The treatment process uses chemicals commonly found in drinking water systems, including sodium hypochlorite (liquid bleach) for disinfection, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, and aluminum chlorohydrate to support treatment processes. Small quantities of cleaning chemicals may also be used periodically. Importantly, the project will not use chlorine gas, which was previously used at this site.
