The Naniloa Drive property was selected because it is where the Casto and Dry Creek spring water already comes together through existing infrastructure. When evaluating water infrastructure projects, JVWCD considers several factors, including where the water source is located, existing infrastructure, ability to efficiently deliver water, construction impacts, and long-term operating costs. Using the existing JVWCD property allows the project to make use of existing pipelines, utilities, storage, and access. Building at another location would require significant new pipelines, additional easements, more construction impacts, and increased costs for the community.
